Introduction

Creation of Cordal Plectre de Cambra is a direct result of the huge musical and educational work developed by Maestro Antonio Pérez Llopis in his 30 years leading the Artística Nulense Music Society’s lute orchestra Daniel Fortea. In fact, the four ensemble members have been forming part of this group, where they started their musical training and they have performed all over Spain.
The group is formed by:
Javier Blasco Montolio, who has been Daniel Fortea’s member for 27 years and first bandurria for more than 25. He validated four courses of plectrum instruments at the Liceu Conservatory Music in Barcelona, and collaborated with other plectrum ensembles in the area of Castelló, and with several folk, dancing and popular music groups, with has travelled throughout Europe. In Cordal he plays bandurria, lute and mandolin.
José Vicente Navarro Ventura has been playing the sopranino mandolin in F in Daniel Fortea orchestra for 12 years, and he’s a key member in the group of first voices. He also collaborates with other popular music groups. In Cordal he plays mandolin.
Ricard Herrero Aràmbul is also first bandurria in Daniel Fortea, where he’s been playing for almost 20 years. As Javier Blasco, he validated three courses of plectrum instruments at the Liceu Conservatory Music in Barcelona and collaborated with folk and dancing groups. In Cordal he plays bandurria, mandolin and lute.
Pasqual Casabó Escrig has been part of Daniel Fortea orchestra for 26 years, which he has been alternating guitar with lute. He obtained the Elementary Music Diploma in Guitar Education from the Professional Conservatory Music in Castelló, being taught by teachers as Manuel Abella, Manuel Babiloni and Isabel Agut. As the rest of the members, he has collaborated with other folk, dancing and popular music groups. In Cordal he plays guitar and bass.
Cordal Plectre de Cambra performed their first concert in Nules, the last December 12th 2009, and their repertoire consists mainly of well-known pieces of classical music, which they give a very personal performance, with a soft sound achieved with the use of single string, also applied in a particular way to plectrum instruments, and the richness of tones associated with the wide variety of instruments used, always choosing the most suitable combination for each particular work.
Most of the performed music has been arranged by Maestro Pérez Llopis.
